³How Far Away²
July 12, 2000
You know that place
that boasts of sand,
Where sunshine
lives, that no-manıs land?
The next time you
will hear from me,
Thatıs how far away
Iıll be.
You know that time
before we met
When your existence
wasnıt set?
The next look from
my eyes youıll see,
Thatıs how far away
Iıll be.
Remember us, along
the beach
When we had everything
in reach?
When memories flood
instead of flee,
Thatıs how close to
you Iıd be.
For me, however,
that wonıt work
For thoughts of you
hide in some murk.
Tonight, allow my
mind to see
How far away this
thought will be.
Iıll think of you,
for I do still,
Yet feelings fade as
their time will.
Our thoughts and
times Iıll hold with me,
But guess how far
away theyıll be?
I wave goodbye with
none returned
And think of
thoughts that might have burned
Had I not buried you
in me
And showed you just
how far away Iıd be.
